Elasticity

As any physics student knows, elasticity is the property of a solid material to return to its original shape and size after the forces deforming it have been removed.

Sheep wool has the highest elasticity of any known natural fiber, which is one of its most striking properties. It is said that “wool fiber is so resilient and elastic that it can be bent 30,000 times and still return to its normal shape. Every wool fiber has a natural elasticity and crimp that allows it to be stretched up to one-third its normal length.”(http://www.sheep101.info/warmwool.html) The fibers do not sag, crumple or wrinkle, as they always conform to their original state. This is what makes wool clothing such a great investment, as it is incredibly long lasting.
